Collections
The archives of Parliament are a rich and exciting resource for exploring local, national and international history from the fifteenth century to the present day. The collections also provide an unparalleled window into Parliament itself, including its architecture, administration and functions. We have five major collecting areas:
The Parliamentary Archives do not hold records of government departments (the civil service), The Crown, the Court of Appeal, the Supreme Court or pre-1497 records of Parliament (The Chancery). These can all be found at The National Archives UK.
