- Description: The political papers of Thomas Tickell (1686-1740) are divided into four sections: minutes of the Lords Justices of England, 1714 (TIC/1); correspondence of the Lords Justices of England, 1714 (TIC/2); Irish Papers, 1709-33 (TIC/3); and, miscellaneous official papers, 1714-20, including Thomas Tickell's draft for James Stanhope's speech regarding the Septennial Act of 1716 (TIC/4/B), a report on possible improvements to the government of Jamaica (TIC/4/D) and applications for shares in the South Sea Company just before the South Sea Bubble (TIC/4/E). There is also a book on Tickell family history (TIC/5).
