The letters are mostly addressed to Shaw Lefevre but there are also some replies and drafts of replies by Shaw Lefevre, and some letters from or to other people presumably copied to Shaw Lefevre or copied by Shaw Lefevre. The majority of the letters are about the commission generally, but a large proportion are applications for work and people recommending their friends and relatives for work.
