- Administrative or Biographical History: Geoffrey Lloyd was a Conservative MP for the Ladywood division of Birmingham (Oct 1931-July 1945) and for the King's Norton division of Birmingham (Feb 1950-May 1955); he sat for Sutton Coldfield from 1955 until he retired in 1974. He was Minister in charge of Petroleum Warfare Department (1940-1945), Minister of Fuel and Power (Nov 1951-Dec 1955) and Minister of Education Department (Sep 1957-Oct 1959). Created Baron Geoffrey-Lloyd in 1974, when he assumed the surname Geoffrey-Lloyd in lieu of Lloyd.
