- Acquisition: It was the practice of the Judicial Office to retain local copies of all appeal case papers alongside administrative and taxation papers. After five years these were reviewed and typically destroyed. When the files on the Pinochet Appeal Case were reviewed it was decided by the office to transfer them to the archives instead.
- Description: Regina v Evans and another and the Comissioner of Police for the Metropolis and others (Appellants) ex part Pinochet (Respondent) (On Appeal from a Divisional Court of the Queen's Bench Division) Regina v Bartle and the Commissioner of Police for the Metropolis and others (Appellants) ex parte Pinochet (Respondent) (On Appeal from a Divisional Court of the Queen's Bench Division).
File 2 - includes correspondence regarding the Law Lords judgement, Lord Hoffman, petitions to intervene and affidavits. - Terms:
- Appraisal Information: This series was appraised by the office post accessioning. Duplicates of the appeal case papers (HL/PO/JU/4/3/2039-2040) were removed and destroyed.
- Accruals: The Judicial Office ceased to function in 2009 when all judicial activities transferred to the UK Supreme Court. No further accurals expected.
- System of Arrangement: This series was arranged by the office post accessioning.
