- Acquisition: Transferred to the Parliamentary Archives in 2009 when the Judicial Office ceased to exist and all judicial activities moved to the UK Supreme Court.
- Description: Precedent file containing 'Note for the Record on "Contempt Proceedings" for the Spycatcher Appeal', a statement by J.A.Vallance White on his actions during the Appellate Committee's handling of the Appeal, and a copy of the statement made by Lord Bridge in the Chamber with regards to it. Spycatcher was an autobiographical book written by Peter Wright, a former MI5 officer, in 1987. The publication of the book was contested by the British Government and eventually banned within the UK. This file also contains a record of the Sunday Times contesting the ban in an attempt to resume serializing the book in its newspaper.
