HL/PO/JO/10/5/261-271 contain plans which were mainly related to the Reports of Commissioners of Woods, Forests and Land Revenues of the Crown (HL/PO/JO/10/5/136).
The records cover a wide range of subjects and types of material. Early books of Orders and Ordinances of both Houses, 1640-1695, may be found at HL/PO/JO/10/5/1-30. Lists of offices and employees of the East India Company may be found at HL/PO/JO/10/5/90-100. There are also several sets of volumes detailing the import and export of goods between British ports and the wider world, including former colonies (HL/PO/JO/10/5/102 and HL/PO/JO/10/5/131-42).
The records also include several series of commissioners' proceedings for various projects, e.g. Report of Charity Commissioners for Education of the Poor (HL/PO/JO/10/5/108-109) and Reports of Commissioners of Woods, Forests and Land Revenues of the Crown (HL/PO/JO/10/5/136). There are over 100 volumes relating to the building of Westminster Bridge (HL/PO/JO/10/5/112-116). Naval Estimates of Expense at HL/PO/JO/10/5/130 include information on pensions awarded, with brief service records and information about widows and families. Records of the South Sea Company may be found at HL/PO/JO/10/5/157-63 and HL/PO/JO/10/5/193-5. There are also scattered volumes relating to the forfeited estates of recusants and Catholics, particularly in Ireland and Scotland. - Terms:
- System of Arrangement: Dates are new style throughout and have been amended from saints days or feast days (mainly accounting running from Lady Day or Michaelmas) to the standard calendar.
