- Custodial History: The names of the suffragettes involved in this were Muriel Matters and Helen Fox who chained themselves to the ironwork grille of the Ladies' Gallery and had to be filed off, while Violet Tillard dropped the banner into the chamber. It was one of several simultaneous protests by suffragettes in Parliament that day.
- Description: The banner was unfurled from the Ladies' Gallery in the chamber of the House of Commons by suffragettes during a protest on 28 October 1908 known as the Grille Incident. It demands, on behalf of the Women's Freedom League, the immediate extension to women of the right to vote.
